Update to the 2020/21 Tryout Guidelines

June 12, 2020

As a result of Governor Hogan’s press conference yesterday, June 10, and the progress we are making in our fight against COVID-19, Old Line FC would like to highlight the following changes to the 2020/21 Tryout Guidelines. Please read through them carefully so you are informed and prepared heading into tryouts this weekend.

  1. Player Arrival

    • Players no longer need to remain in cars for drop off. Parents can park when they arrive, and players will go directly to the registration desk for their tryout number.

    • Parents must remain in cars during tryouts. Spectators are still not allowed.

  2. Player Safety

    • Old Line FC tryouts will now incorporate contact, including small- and large-sided games.

    • Outside of game play, social distancing measures will still be taken in the interest of health and safety.

  3. Tryout Format

    • Old Line FC tryouts will no longer be limited to stations. Coaches will run their own tryouts as they see fit.

    • Scrimmaging and small-sided games are permitted at Old Line FC tryouts.

  4. Player Departure

    • Tryout time slots will be 75 minutes. We still need time to clear the field in preparation for the next age group coming on to avoid unnecessary contact with other groups.

    • Coaches can communicate with players off the pitch after their tryout time slot.
