The fall soccer season really begins when teams start training and practicing in the middle of summer and, depending on the tournaments you compete in, ends in the very late fall. There are countless experiences over those many months (and many miles), and we want to highlight a few of those.
Overall, Old Line FC believes that playing soccer is about more than just playing a game. Our experienced and knowledgeable coaches develop and grow our players, but also emphasize the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
While their great wins (and close games) throughout the season were obvious highlights, Old Line FC 2015 Girls (Name) Black Team Coach Pohlner’s most fulfilling highlight of this past fall was how his team grew into a “soccer family”: “Early on, our girls came together, on their own, and created a pre-game chant to get themselves pumped up before every game.”
The Old Line FC 2013 Girls (“Red Sirens”) Red Team were a new team that formed in the summer and started to grow into a “soccer family”: they played hard, with a lot of nail biters, and they are looking forward to their transition to 9v9.
Old Line FC Teams have auxiliary try-outs, kick-arounds, and workouts over the winter, so please visit our Events page for more information: https://www.oldlinefc.com/events
Our Old Line FC Teams competed in the Atlantic Premier League (APL), Central Maryland Soccer Association (CMSA), and Elite Development Program (EDP) leagues with games played in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
The Old Line FC 2013 Girls (“Majestics”) Black Team were undefeated and were first place in both CMSA and EDP. The Old Line FC 2012 Girls (“Lighting”) Red/Black Team went undefeated during league play and were first in the CMSA U11 Girls Classic South Division Championship.
The Old Line FC 2013 Boys (“Predators”) Black/Red Team won their EDP league, and the Old Line FC 2011 Boys (“Azzurri”) Black Team were first place in EDP’s top bracket, a first in Old Line FC’s club history.
Our teams competed in tournaments in Maryland, Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The Old Line FC 2012 Boys Black Team were Hershey Cup White Division Champions, Gettysburg Top Flight Champions, and Dillsburg Shootout Champions. The Old Line FC 2013 Boys (“Predators”) Black Team were 2012 Hershey Cup Champions, 2012 Battle at Hilltop Champions, and 2012 Explorer Cup Champions. The Old Line 2013 Boys (“Gladiators”) Red Team were 2022 Hempfield Fall Classic Champions. The Old Line FC 2014 Boys (“Outlaws”) Black Team won three of their five tournaments.
The Old Line FC 2013 Girls (“Majestics”) Black Team won the FC Bucks CRUSA, Hershey Cup, OBGC, WAGS, Raleigh Junior Showcase, and Columbia Fall Classic tournaments.
Old Line FC understands that a successful Fall season is more about league and tournament records: it’s about players developing and growing, and becoming great teammates.
Good luck to our Old Line FC teams as they transition into their winter and spring leagues and then, before you know it, another fall season will be just around the corner…
